GUN-VIOLENCE AND DHARMA – PART II | HUA
The Hindu University of America offers instruction in philosophical systems based on Hinduism that emphasize critical thinking, morality, and introspection. It trains students for service, leadership, and involvement in the world by fostering Hindu culture and traditions in a setting of academic achievement and independence.
In order to
foster in its students a lifelong love of study and a desire to live in harmony
with the rest of the world, Hindu University of America tries to balance their pursuit of
critical thought and academic success with spiritual understanding and inner
growth. The university wants all of its students to be equipped with the tools
necessary to participate in critical thinking, self-exploration, finding a
greater sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, and exploring
opportunities for positive social involvement, making a difference, and serving
humanity.
Another
illustration of how Kshatriya Dharma functioned and continues to function in
traditional India is provided by the contrast between the conflict between
Russia and Ukraine and the images of innocent civilians in hospitals, schools,
and other public gathering places being obliterated by weapons of mass
destruction. These pictures scream the Adharmic way of fighting. While the
larger community, which includes all other Varnas and Jatis, continued with its
daily activities in the knowledge that the war and violence would not spread
into the non-Kshatriya spheres, wars in ancient and traditional India were
restricted to the specific swim lanes designated by the warring sides.
