This unique course teaches students how to study the Vedic Sastras by introducing them to the various layers of knowledge contained therein, i.e. at the levels of revelation (vidya), perception (darsana) and expression (sastra). Enables students to recognize the various structures and methodologies used in the sastras to define purpose, present content, interpret, validate, and verify the text in a systematic way that allows the text to be incorporated and preserved within the tradition. practice. These structures and methodologies extend across the various Indian knowledge traditions and, by understanding them, allow the Sastric treatises to become more comprehensible to students in their independent study.

By becoming more inclusive and pluralistic, conflicts at different levels can be approached more creatively. There are few contemporary studies on the Hindu perspective on conflict and peace. Most of these studies will focus on Indian developments in the 20th century (especially its second half) and juxtapose Indian thought with dominant Western theories.
