 Certificate Program in Sanskrit - Advanced Stage

It consists of eight courses for students of all ages, including the high school level (Grade 12 or GED). It is the last of the three stages that follow – Intermediate, Beginner and Advanced. It forms a certificate program in Sanskrit Learning Proficiency. It requires you to complete the beginner and intermediate stages of the advanced Sanskrit program. (Eight quarters total) As students progress in their ability in the language of instruction, they will gradually transition to Sanskrit in a way that is easy and comfortable.


It is 8 quarters, 88 weeks of intensive cooperation in trains, students who have previous knowledge of Sanskrit to be able to practice reading, writing and writing simple texts and engage in conversational activities that allow them to easily pass advanced courses. The CPSP Intermediate level is aimed at adults and high school students who want to learn the language of their choice in depth and apply it to the study of the texts and literature of Hinduism and its many derivative knowledge systems. The course is taught by committed HUA faculty members through an online user-friendly platform that incorporates a learning method that utilizes real-time virtual classrooms.

Program structure:

This certificate course in Sanskrit Learning Proficiency - Advanced Phase is designed as an eight quarter (2 year) sequence of 1.5 credit hours per quarter. There will be a total of 120 hours of training and the equivalent of 240 hours of self-study in total. Innovative design with textbooks and syllabus developed for Samskrita Bharati USA (SBusa.org) The program will be based on material found in SBusa SBusa publications "SUBHASHA" "SUVAANII", "KUSUMAM" and "SAURABHAM" and supplemented with other relevant course content.


On completion of this phase, students will have the option of further advanced Sanskrit studies:

(a) master's certificate programs, or

(b) Master's Degree in Sanskrit Studies In all cases, students will be part of an ecosystem of "higher education" that enables educational advancement in Hindu studies such as Sanskrit literature studies. Innovatively designed using core curriculum and textbooks written and published through Samskrita Bharati, the program will be based on the content contained in twelve books.

Learning Objectives):

After completing the course, students will be able to understand Sanskrit in these six areas:

(a) (a) Reading (ie alphabets, sentences and words); paThanam

b) writing (creating coherent paragraphs and sentences); lekhanam

(c) (c) Listening (understanding Sanskrit speech when someone is speaking); shravaNam

(d) Conversation (Being able to speak accurately and grammatically correct Sanskrit in such a way that other people understand what it means); sambhAShaNam

(e) (e) Grammar (Structure and Technology of Language); vyAkaraNam, a

(f) Complex (Be able to engage in complicated sentences, both spoken and written, and understand their meaning without help. avagamanam.
