  Certificate Program in Bhagavad Gita Through Sanskrit (BGTS) – Beginner Phase is a 4-course sequence for students aged 9th grade and above, who have a passion to learn the Bhagavad Gita through a new language. It is the first of three phases - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced - that together comprise the BGTS. The course assumes no prior knowledge of the Sanskrit language, but students should know the devanAgari script.   The Certificate Program in Bhagavad Gita via Sanskrit has been designed with the purpose of offering students a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of one of the most respected texts in Sanatana Dharma, the Bhagavad Gita, through the lens of Sanskrit, the classical language of India. The program is a collection of sixteen courses, with the course under discussion being the first one in the series. It has been created for students who are interested in learning the basics of Sanskrit grammar and vocabulary while concurrently exploring the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Expert faculty members will lead this course and provide a verse-by-verse analysis of Chapter 1 of the Bhagavad Gita .   The course, Applied Vedic Science – Advanced (Vedanta) (SAN8110) , is a deeper exploration into the philosophies based on the last portions of the Vedas, Vedanta . The different schools of thought in regard to Vedanta differ not only in their interpretation but also in their teachings and worldview. The rich tradition of philosophical debates among these schools still thrives today. Through studying the different ontologies and teachings of these schools, students will gain an in-depth understanding of the nature of the Vedas.   To enroll in this course, students must have completed the Applied Vedic Science – Basic (Vedanta) course, be currently enrolled in the Sanskrit master's certificate program (MIT-SVS ) and have been admitted into the Master Program in Sanskrit through MIT-SVS.
